Well, here I am taking a break from the school day to write about how things are going. First of all, Thomas' 30 minute recital went really well yesterday. He played in Battell Chapel on Yale campus. While it was a lot of work putting together a recital in only a few weeks - he did it and now can focus on all the other things going on. We are praying that he will do well on the MMA entrance exam on the 23rd of October. He is kept so busy with school and practicing that sometimes we have to have a night where we don't work. We can very easily get overwhelmed with our earthly responsibilities that we lose sight of other important things.
I am enjoying my second year of teaching. I feel much more prepared and so far I have been pleasantly surprised with how well my students are learning. I'm getting to work with Yale on some different after-school options - so I am hopeful that the program will continue to grow.
But now for the good stuff! I have been feeling Baby more and more frequently (I was feeling little kicks when I started this post!) and Thomas has been able to feel some of these kicks too! We had a great doctor's visit on Monday and we are now counting down the days (only 7!) until we have our 20 week ultrasound. Drumrolllllll!!!! I have been growing out of my clothes - but in a very strange way. I have only gained 2 pounds since the last doctor's visit but my pants I cannot button or keep up. I really do have a little pregnancy belly and my students at school are taking notice. Mainly whispering behind my back - do they understand that I have ears?? Oh well, they will know soon enough. Thankfully, I have some gift cards that I will be using to try to clothe myself properly! ;) We are so excited to be coming home in December! Now that it's October it doesn't seem that far away anymore! The Lord has been so good to us both so far this school year. My morning sickness is all gone and now I eat... a lot. I also eat often. I try to walk everyday - but I'm finding that my job has a built-in exercise plan. I'm on the 4th floor and I'm still walking the stairs since I'm still able (probably won't be in 15 weeks!) and I do a lot of walking between classes. Our house has been a little chilly but we were able to get the gas people to come check it out today. After this post, I'm going to make another grocery list and then Thomas and I will head out on our coffee date. Or whatever I can drink with a smidge of caffeine in it.
Please continue to pray for a healthy and safe pregnancy and baby. Please also keep Thomas in your prayers as his school load is very hefty this semester.
In Christ,
The Russells
