Today's Coffee: I'm actually didn't have any today...
But Thomas had: New England Coffee Breakfast Blend. I - on the other hand - am no longer drinking coffee due to to the fact that Thomas and I are having a baby!!!! :) It's true - today marks 9 weeks! We have known for about a month and tried to keep it a secret as long as possible (maybe only made it a week). We are now telling everyone in hopes that our friends and families will pray for and with us for a healthy baby and pregnancy. The Lord has been so good to us to bless us in this way and we are so thankful and excited to raise up a family based on Christ. So, that's the big news!
In other aspects of our lives: I finished my first year of teaching (I actually found out I was pregnant on the last day of school!) and Thomas completed his first year for his Masters. We have been trying to stay cool in the summer heat and eventually bought an AC unit once I started having morning sickness. Thankfully it hasn't been awful but it certainly has knocked me down for the past few weeks. I can at least be thankful that I'm sick during the summer and not when I will be teaching.
Thomas and I only have one picture so far of our little 'bean' and we were able to see the heartbeat last week and hear the heartbeat today! We both were overcome with tears and we really began to understand that the Lord is in control of life! It's an amazing testimony for us as married people to really hear the heartbeat of our unborn child. It was beautiful! :)
I am currently teaching in a summer music academy through Yale (it's only day 2) and lasts for 4 weeks. It's been a lot of fun so far and I really enjoy it. The hardest part is getting back on a routine schedule that has us waking up at 6.30 am. My tummy doesn't enjoy the mornings anymore and I eat what I can. My doctor was hoping to help the nausea with Unisom (it's really a sleepy pill but has anti-nausea properties) and I was only taking half a pill - but it knocked me out for about 4 hours every time I took it. So, since the nausea has calmed a lot the past 4/5 days we are going to try eating without it.
Also this summer we have really started to like the show NCIS. Thanks to the Russell fam for helping us get the DVDs to watch - it's been the activity during most of our chill time. Thomas is currently studying and practicing for the upcoming year at Yale. So we keep most of our days full. A good friend of ours took us to the Lighthouse Beach last Saturday - so now we know a great place to relax, get wet and just soak up some sun.
All in all, our summer has been awesome. We love how the Lord is working in us and through us and cannot wait to continue seeking the Lord through the birth of our child! We hope that everyone is doing well wherever you may be!
In Christ,
The Russells (all 3)
